Shelby the Chocolate Lab Pup that came into our Manteca Clinic
If this isn’t the sweetest large dog breed then we don’t know what is! See them all at http://facebook.com/dogandcatshots and at our regular website
Here we are at our Manteca pet vaccination clinic (from before the quarantine) and we have a picture of Shelby the Chocolate Lab pup in the arms of his very lucky human. The Chocolate Lab color was first introduced in the 1930s. The original Labrador Retrievers, or just ‘Labs’ are derived from the St John’s dog of Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada. In the early 19th century they served as land and water retrievers and general hunting dogs with special affinity for water. The modern Labrador Retrievers fall into two sub types: The heavier boned and longer haired English show dogs and the lighter boned and more agile American field or working dogs. Both types appear commonly in America and are noted for their gentle disposition as well as trainability and skill at many tasks. The original Lab color was all black and later came to include all yellow or golden color and finally the Chocolate has been added to the breed. There are those who claim that the Chocolate Lab is even sweeter than the regular Labs but that seems almost impossible considering how wonderful all Labs are.
