Raylie the Miniature Australian Shepherd Visited us in Antelope

See big dogs, little dogs and some miniature versions, too, at http://facebook.com/dogandcatshots

Here at our Sacramento and Antelope clinic is a wonderful little dog named Raylie along with her attendant human. Miniature Aussies are fairly uncommon around our clinics but if everybody knew what wonderful pets they make we would see a lot more of them. Miniature Australian Shepherds or ‘Minis’ are a relatively new breed developed in California in the late 1970s by selecting for small size among Australian Shepherds. They possess the same qualities as their larger progenitors – herding instinct, smarts, trainability, speed, agility and strong bond to their owner. In fact ‘Minis’ may be even more focused on owner approval which makes them exceptionally easy to train and everybody who has one is impressed by their sensitive and devoted nature. – Geoffrey Antipa
